William Shakespeare

William Shakespeare was baptised on the 26th April 1564 (Birth unknown), at Stratford William Shakespeare is the son of John Shakespeare, and John was a successful Glover and alderman from Snitterfield. His actual birthday is unknown but it is traditionally observed on the 23rd April, St Georges Day. William Shakespeare was the third child out of eight and he lived the longest as well.

William Shakespeare went to the Kings New School in Strafford, this school was about a quarter of a mile away from his home in Stafford.  William Shakespeare learned Latin grammar and the classics.

At the age of 18 years William Shakespeare married a 26 year old Anne Hathaway. Consistory court of the Diocese of Worcester they issued a marriage licence on the 27th November 1582. Six Months after they got married Anne gave birth to a wonderful beautiful daughter, they called the little girl Susanna, she was baptises on the 26th May 1583. Two years later, twins arrived son Hamnet and daughter Judith, they were baptised on the 2nd February 1585. Hamnet only made it until he was 11 years old then he died of unknown causes, he was buried on the 11th August 1596.

After the twins birth William left few historical facts until he is mentioned on parts of the London theatre scene in 1592 and then biographers attempted to account for this period many apocryphal. Another 18th Century story is the Shakespeare started his theatrical career minding the horses of the theatre patrons in London. John Aubrey reported that William Shakespeare had been a country schoolmaster. Some 20th century scholars have suggested that William may have been employed as a schoolmaster by Alexander Houghton of Lancashire a Catholic Landowner who named a William Shakeshafte in his will. No other evidence was ever found for this because Shakeshafte was a popular name in the Lancashire area.

No one knows exactly how William started writing, but records of his performances show that several of his own plays were in London on the stage by 1592. Scholars differ on the exact meaning of these words, but most agree that Greene is accusing William of reaching above his rank, in trying to match university educated writers. The phrase Oh, tiger's heart wrapped in a woman's hide" from Shakespeares Henry VI, Part three along with this pun “Shake-scene", this identifies William Shakespeare’s as Greene’s Target.

Shakespeare died on the 23rd April 1616, and his wife and two of his children lived on after him.
